Lowland Leader Mock Assessment
Preparing for assessment can be incredibly daunting! Our team has been through several in recent times. We think that it’s really helpful to have the opportunity to go through a mock assessment in proper “exam” conditions.
We are pleased to put you through your paces in a “formal” way, boosting your confidence and highlighting any areas which might need tweaking before your final assessment, which we can support you with.
It’s best to do the Lowland Leader Mock Assessment in small groups, ideally 4 to replicate the conditions, and we do recommend that we do it in an area which is unfamiliar to you all so you can get the most out of the navigation side of the assessment.
In this day long Lowland Leader Mock Assessment we will cover all of the key areas:
- Lowland Leader scope and terrain
- DLOG (Digital Walk Log)
- Leader responsibilities
- Leadership, group management and decision making
- Planning and the weather
- Hazards and Emergency procedures
- Equipment
- Walking skills
- Navigation
- Teaching and learning skills
- Access, conservation and the environment
- Background knowledge
We can have a look through your DLOG as part of this and check that you’re on the right lines. This can take one of the big worries away for candidates – you want to go into assessment confident that your DLOG is going to be a big plus for you.
So if you want to have a chat about setting something up – great! I’m on 07941 465 799 and I’d love to have a “non-obligation” conversation with you about setting something up.

Our mock assessment was ideal preparation for the assessment, exactly the same format. So thank you Katy it was spot on!
